I Am They - Make A Way

워십 집회 음악을 위해 모였던 이 들이 지속적으로 활동을 하게 된 경우인데요, 2011년 크리스천 음악 전문 레이블인 Essential Records와 계약하면서 미국 Nevada주 Carson City에서 6명으로 시작한 밴드입니다. 

이들의 초기 뮤직비디오에서 볼 수 있던 여성 보컬 Stephanie Kulla은 Abbie Parker로 교체되면서 현재 멤버는 Matthew Hein (vocals, guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin) ; Adam Palmer (vocals, guitar, Nashville high-strung guitar, banjo, dobro, concert drum) ; Abbie Parker (vocals, harmonium) ; Justin Shinn (keyboards, organ, concert drum, banjo, mandolin) ; Sara Palmer (drums, percussion) 5명인데요, 멤버들이 다루고 있는 악기 종류만 보더라도 이들의 음악적인 스타일을 짐작할 수 있을 것 같네요.

2015년 발표한 첫 앨범 [I Am They] 활동을 통해 GMA 도브상 신인상 후보에도 올랐는데요, 이 들의 음악은 들을 수록 정감어린 느낌, 좋은데요 ~ :) 위 영상은 작년 봄에 많은 사랑을 받았던 곡으로 교체된 여성 보컬 Abbie Parker가 처음으로 참여한 버전입니다.

이들의 이름에 대한 의미는 다음과 같다고 하는 군요 ~

The name 'I Am They' is inspired by John 17 - created with the intent to adopt on a personal and individual level. As Jesus prays in this chapter, He consistently refers to His disciples as "they". It is important to each band member to be the “they” that Jesus referred to.
